Is there any way to disable a Microsoft Points card you buy at the store? Once someone turns it on or you can disable it before it is used?

I’m seeing a difference of two letters. says an Xbox 360 Live 1600 Points and is like $ 2 cheaper. but then there is the Microsoft Xbox Live 1600 Points Subscription Card and is more expensive.
